  3.  Q:  What is a Playboard ?
  4.  A:  A playboard is a single set of 6 numbers for the lottery drawing.  When
  5.      you ask to select a "playboard", then 6 numbers will be picked.

  8.  Q:  What does "BEST BET Picks It (Automatic)" do ?
  9.  A:  The completely "automatic" method of number selection tells BEST BET
  10.      to use its "ball shuffling" method of random number selection.  BEST
  11.      BET simulates a lottery machine by selecting 6 simulated "balls" from
  12.      its simulated lottery machine.  The selected 6 numbers are then shown
  13.      to you.  If you selected "y" when asked "Display results in sorted 
  14.      order", then the numbers chosen will be shown sorted from smallest 
  15.      number to largest number.  Otherwise, the numbers are shown in the
  16.      actual order in which BEST BET pulled them out of its simulated
  17.      lottery machine.

  20.  Q:  What does "We Pick It Together (Computer-assisted)" do ?
  21.  A:  When you ask to pick it together, you and BEST BET will share in the
  22.      number selection process.  First, BEST BET asks you if you would like
  23.      to review the "most-winning" numbers.  If you answer 'y', then BEST BET
  24.      calculates all of the drawing results in its database to produce a 
  25.      summary report of the most-drawn and least-drawn numbers.  It also
  26.      shows you how many times each number has been drawn.  You can use this
  27.      information to assist you in selecting your "lucky" numbers (or you may
  28.      have your own favorite lucky numbers instead).

  30.      Next, you are asked to enter your "lucky", or favorite, numbers.  These
  31.      are the numbers that you want BEST BET to be sure to use.

  33.      After you finish entering your lucky numbers, BEST BET asks
  34.      
  35.      "Is Computer to select numbers in the range of 1 to 50 (Y/n) ?"
  36.      
  37.      If you want to have the computer  choose from the entire range of
  38.      numbers from 1 to 50, then answer 'y'. If you answer 'n', then you
  39.      can control the range of "balls" that the computer will select.

  41.      For example, you might have analyzed the most recent drawings and
  42.      decided that you feel the computer should only select numbers in the
  43.      range of 10 to 45 (instead of 1 to 50).  You can then enter the
  44.      smallest number to be used and the biggest number.  The computer
  45.      will select from the range of numbers you specified.

  47.      Finally, you are asked "Display computer selections in sorted order ?".
  48.      If you want the selected numbers to be ordered from smallest to largest,
  49.      answer 'y'.  Otherwise, the numbers will be shown in the order in which
  50.      you entered them (your lucky numbers, followed by the computer-selected
  51.      numbers in the order in which they were selected).

  53.      The computer then begins its "Thinking" process, followed by the 
  54.      display of the selected numbers.

  56.  Q:  What does "We Pick It Together using SMART-FILTER" do ?
  57.  A:  This option is similar to We Pick It Together (Computer-assisted), with
  58.      the addition of "filtering" to the number sequences that are generated.
  59.      Use this method if you want to have BEST BET eliminate generated sets
  60.      of numbers that do not meet a given statistical criteria or pattern.
  61.      For example, if you want only sequences with an equal number of odd
  62.      and even numbers, then the filter can cause any combinations which
  63.      are produced by BEST BET that are not of an equal number of odd/even
  64.      numbers to be eliminated.  Use SMART-FILTER when you are familiar with
  65.      the statistical pattern you want to focus upon.

  70.  Q:  How does BEST BET select its numbers ?
  71.  A:  BEST BET uses a simulation of a lottery machine, whereby it mixes and
  72.      shuffles simulated ping-pong balls.  When you ask BEST BET to pick some
  73.      numbers, it randomly chooses from the simulated lottery machine.  BEST
  74.      BET uses a special random number selection method (which is confidential
  75.      and not published), in order to more completley randomize the number
  76.      selection process.

  79.  Q:  What is BEST BET "ball shuffling" ?
  80.  A:  BEST BET is constantly mixing, or shuffling, the simulated ping-pong 
  81.      balls in its 5 simulated lottery machines internally.  While you read
  82.      this, BEST BET is constantly mixing the balls around inside of its
  83.      computer memory circuits.  BEST BET random numbers depend upon:
  84.      
  85.        * When you actually decide to select some lottery numbers
  86.        * How fast your computer CPU runs (faster computers shuffle and
  87.          mix the balls around faster)
  88.        * How long BEST BET has been running
  89.        * The time between your keystrokes when you use BEST BET
  90.        * The time of day when BEST BET was first started
  91.        * Other confidential, proprietary randomizing techniques

  93.      By using the above methods of mixing the simulated ping-pong balls
  94.      around inside the computer's memory, BEST BET is able to simulate the
  95.      operation of a real lottery machine (to the extent possible with a 
  96.      computer).

  98.  Q:  What is BEST BET "simulated lottery machine" ?
  99.  A:  BEST BET actually contains 5 simulated lottery machines.  Each machine
  100.      is a computer simulation.  Each machine contains 50 (depends upon your
  101.      state, it's 50 in Texas) simulated ping-pong balls.  BEST BET runs the
  102.      simulated lottery machines constantly while the program is operating.

  104.      When you ask BEST BET to select a set of random numbers, it reaches 
  105.      into one of its five simulated lottery machines and picks a number.
  106.      It repeats this process until it has selected all the numbers 
  107.      required to satisfy your request (for example, if you supply two
  108.      lucky numbers, then BEST BET will pick the other four numbers from 
  109.      a simulated lottery machine).

  111.      BEST BET uses five separate lottery machines in order to produce the
  112.      best possible random numbers for a "playslip" (which is five separate
  113.      plays).  Once a lottery machine has been used, its "balls" are reset
  114.      to their starting position, then the machine is restarted and runs
  115.      continually until you need to select more random numbers from it the
  116.      next time.
